Since 1945 Lutheran World Relief has been an agency offering relief to devastated areas of the world. Adapting as the agency grew, it has moved beyond relief into devlopement of material resources, then to development of people and communities. All of this has been undertaken in close partnership with global organizations, especially the Lutheran World Federation, but also with local community agencies.
Ongoing items needed are health kits, school kits, quilts, sewing kits, soap, and layettes for babies.
Each year in February, Redeemer is a pickup site for the Heart of Florida and Space Coast Conferences. We are one of five locations in the state and the items picked up will be taken to a warehouse in New Windsor, Maryland. The supplies are checked and repacked into bundles or shipping containers ready for the next call such as Haiti. For more information please contact Barbara Cilik 407-293-1686 or contact 1-800-LWR-LWR2 or visit lwr.org.
