Be Salt and Light in the World

     We need to actually show people that they are, in fact, salt and light.  So I am suggesting we start a "Salt & Light Log".  I am asking you to start collecting examples of where God has worked through you to help someone else.  Now, I warn you: this may be difficult for some maybe many of us who were taught never to boast.  (or, more accurately, we were taught that saying anything good about ourselves publicly is boasting.)  And if that is too hard practice pointing out where you see someone else being salt and light.  That's easier maybe but consider yourselves first.  I encourage you first to look and see where God is using you to be salt and light.  

     It is not a silly exercise... my goals are simple... to help us gain the skill of looking for God in the world so that we come to believe that we are vessels through which God is working thereby growing in the name and identity we have been called.  Blessed...to be a blessing...  Who knows... you might like it!  Being salt and light... naming it, sharing it, becoming it... and growing into that identity ever more fully.  I look forward to hearing from you.
